Sony announced earlier today that the electronics company has officially bought developer Sucker Punch (inFamous), perhaps as a safeguard against a repeat Insomniac scenario. Now part of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios (the business’ 16th adoption), Sucker Punch’s successful IP were already owned by Sony prior to the acquisition.
While the new console hardware generation may not be on the horizon for several more years, it looks like Sony already has some ideas in serious production.
