Sony has confirmed last week’s rumor of a closure of Zipper Interactive (M.A.G., Unit 13). In a statement released to IGN, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios confirmed the studio’s dissolution, while promising to continue to support the company’s currently active online servers and content.

Travis Steiner, Lead Designer of SOCOM 4, recently announced his departure from Zipper Interactive via Twitter message. The developer’s current project is unknown, but Steiner did confirm that he left to pursue his own startup studio. No further details have been announced at this time.
