While being interviewed for Mediafile, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had an opportunity to answer a question about possibly bringing the download-and-stream movie service to other current-gen consoles. “Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs.” Hastings responded, “So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that.” Information on said deal between Microsoft and Netflix are not well known, but if the current (or a new) deal is not agreed on whenever the contract is up, it could mean the service will be found on PS3 and Wii.

Reed Hastings also had hopes for his service on other platforms as well. “We will get to mobile eventually, including the iPhone.” Hastings did emphasis that current plans are still mainly focused on computers, consoles, and television.

  1. Hopefully, cause everyone should have access to Netflix, without having to pay another fee just to be able to get to Netflix in the first place.
