Interplay Wins Contract Injunction

250px-Bethesda_vs_Interplay

A while back Elder-Geek reported that Bethesda Softworks had sued Interplay over the rights to the Fallout franchise, specifically for breach of contract and trademark infringement due to the company’s selling of the series’ previous games on digital distribution platforms like GOG.com. According to a forum post at the Fallout fan hub Duck and Cover, the Maryland court recently denied the allegations brought against the company by Bethesda.

From the official document:

“Plantiff’s motion for a preliminary injunction… IS, DENIED for the reasons stated in court…”

Think the court found the right verdict? Do you agree with Bethesda? Let us know in the comments section below!

Bethesda’s right in that Fallout Trilogy makes you think they’re selling Fallout 3, but since they’re darkspawn incarnated, i can’t be any happier about them losing money.
