IO Interactive, developer of (amongst others,) the Hitman series and subsidiary of Square Enix Europe, has announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will be released for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 24th in the United States, and August 27th in Europe.
The game will once more focus on co-op gameplay, featuring the eponymous Kane, a former mercenary, and Lynch, a full-time psychopath. Kane & Lynch 2: Dead Dogs will be set in Shanghai, with events taking place in a period of 48 hours. The developer has stated that the game will also feature a distinct, new visual style, which it described as “inspired by documentary filmmakers and the user-generated era.” A newly released trailer, showing gameplay footage and this new visual style, can be found after the jump.
