Eurogamer pulled on one of its anonymous sources to report that 2K Games and Gearbox will be announcing the production of Borderlands 2 “soon”. According to the website, the expected release date for the title would be sometime in 2012, although no concrete details have been published yet. Gamers and analysts began to expect a sequel to the open-world shooter once the original became a cult hit, but rumors officially began circulating at the title appeared on a developer’s resume profile. Borderlands 2 is expected to launch on the same platforms as its prequel, meaning PC, PS3 and 360.

  1. Always down for more Borderlands. We all knew this was coming but now we have a vague date of release.

I went to Gearbox’s pannel at PAX Prime last year, and they had to force themselves to not say anything about Borderlands 2. I hope this time they actually have a good ending cause the ending of Borderlands, is just terrible.

Oh, and no multiplayer connecting through Gamespy for the PC version as it was a mess to deal with and I couldn’t get it to work until they finally patched it so you didn’t have to mess with port forwarding (my router just wouldn’t allow me to mess with those settings for some reason).

    1. Oh, and there will be a booth this year at Gamescom and at PAX Prime showing off the game. Those lines are going to be crazy, but I can’t wait to see the new stuff.
