Medal of Honor: Warfighter Announced
27 Feb, 2012
Official Xbox Magazine has revealed that a new installment in the Medal of Honor franchise is currently in the works at the EA’s Danger Close team. As with the 2010 installment in series, which rebooted the franchise, Medal of Honor: Warfighter will focus on the exploits of the Tier 1 Operators. More details are included after the jump.
CVG.com reports the game will utilize the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which was developed by EA DICE for Battlefield 3. Major characters from the previous installment will once-again be featured in the leading role. Though no details regarding a possible storyline are currently available, it has been confirmed that players will visit Isabela City, a flooded city in the Philippines.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will ship this October.
A hardcore mode known as “One Shot, One Kill” and cooperative multiplayer has been confirmed, though OXM reports it is unlikely this feature will be available for the entire campaign. Unlike the previous installment, where EA DICE was responsible for the multiplayer experience, Danger Close will be handling the multiplayer aspect of Warfighter itself.
