Nintendo Announces Multiple 3DS Release Dates, ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2′ DLC

As part of their latest Nintendo Direct broadcast earlier tonight, the Big N announced release windows for several hotly anticipated 3DS titles. Fire Emblem: Awakening‘s Western launch – announced right after the company’s E3 3DS Hardware Showcase – was confirmed for sometime in 2013. The latest in the Professor Layton puzzle-solving franchise, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, will debut this November, with daily downloadable puzzles offered for free for a year after launch.
Animal Crossing 3DS was confirmed for Japan this Fall, with no release date set for the West. Not forgetting the ole’ DS, Nintendo revealed the Western release date for Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 to be sometime this Fall. Finally, it was announced that the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. 2 would support post-release downloadable content for its “Coin Rush” mode, although pricing was not specified.
