The biggest retailer in the world is eyeing Gamestop’s business method. Wal-Mart has already experimented with “separately owned and operated” sections to their entertainment sections, but it looks like they are following in Best Buy’s, Amazon.com’s, and Toys R Us’ footsteps by starting their own used games market. The used games site hub speaks of 21-day warrantee on all purchased used products, and that trade-ins will be accepted for Gamecube, Wii, DS, Gameboy Advance, PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
Well all of them, including Gamestop, follow in eStarland’s footsteps.
And I’ve yet to find any place that offers trade-in values that even approach those of eStarland. But this makes me wonder–Amazon has been doing this for several months now, accepting trade-ins on things like PS1 games as well as modern stuff–now what the hell are they doing with these trade-ins?
Besides, Walmart is the definition of an evil company–bunch of crooked bastards who won’t let their underpaid employees unionize.
People DON’T trade in your games you’ll regret losing your collection. I traded all my old XBOX games at a pawn shop for 60 bucks. And what did I get with that $60, Dragonball Budokai 2. I know it was stupid of me but at the time all I had was a Wii and DBB2 was what I wanted. Oh how I miss you Doom special edition. WHY WHYYYYYY!
