Those involved with Operation: Rainfall, a grassroots effort to localize several IP for the Nintendo Wii, finally got an answer from the Big N, although it wasn’t what they were looking for. After promising more information via Facebook updates, Nintendo stated that there were no plans to bring Monolith Soft-produced RPG Xenoblade Chronicles, Nintendo’s own Pandora’s Tower, or Final Fantasy-creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s The Last Story to the West. While by no means a nail in the localization coffin, there seems to be little likelihood the games will see ports across the Atlantic. Operation: Rainfall currently has mail in campaigns prepared for all three games starting later this month.

Those wondering when the Caped Crusader’s ward would finally make an appearance in a Rocksteady game finally have their answer. For those pre-ordering Arkham City at Best Buy, Tim Drake’s Robin will be unlocked in the game’s series of challenge rooms (similar to how the Joker was a PS3-exclusive download for Arkham Asylum). The Boy Wonder has his own move sets and gadgets to utilize, and comes with an additional character skin (Red Robin) in the download pack. At this rate, here’s hoping for a co-op campaign with Nightwing in Bats’ next video game outing.

Everyone in the industry has thoughts on what Nintendo’s next console needs to have to succeed in the marketplace. But one of the more universally theorized features, a hard drive, may not be a part of the system, if a Kotaku report is correct. Citing only “sources”, the website states the “Project Cafe” will not come equipped with a hard drive, and only 8gb of on-board flash memory and SD card input.
