With multiple bundles and SKUs available for Sony’s Move motion control setup, their announcements of sales statistics may not be as clear to the success of the new platform as some may expect. When looking at console bundles, buffered by the sales ratio of Move’s 4.1 million in 4 months versus Kinect’s 2.5 million in 25 days, analyst Michael Pachter says that Kinect is “winning” by far.

The American Heart Association, in a recently released study, said that people that log into “active-play” or fitness games are 58% more likely to start full work-out routines. The same study states that those same gamers see up to a 68% increase in general health and activity from when they started playing. Nintendo, the foremost provider of such games both for the AHA and at general retail, stating that 82% of polled families are interested in starting routines with “active-play” games, with male household members being the primary instigators.

In a Call of Duty-esque game of one-sided one-upmanship, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has become the fastest selling PC game in history, a record previously held by WoW’s earlier expansion, Wrath of the Lich King and, earlier this year, the same company’s RTS sequel Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. The expansion sold 3.3 million in its first 24 hours on market, with over 10,000 retailers participating in Midnight Launch events.

The universally deprecated Final Fantasy XIV launch has its staff over at Square Enix restructuring its development team. In a post on the game’s official website, the company announced that Naoki Yoshida (Cross Edge, Record of Agarest War) will be taking over as the new Director/Producer for the title, replacing both Nobuaki Komoto (who remains on staff as Lead Game Designer) and Hiromichi Tanaka and their respective duties.

The full list of staff replacements and changes can be found after the jump. The company also released a statement concerning the PS3 version of the MMO, which has been issued an indefinite delay until the producers are “confident that the game has reached the level of enjoyability and service befitting the Final Fantasy name for users on all supported platforms.”
