At this past week’s E3 convention in Los Angeles, representatives from Guiness World Records were on hand to deliver awards to publishers for the upcoming 2010 edition of their “Gamer’s Edition” Record book line. The company presented the honor of “Best Selling Video Game” to Shigeru Miyamoto and his Wii Sports, Major Nelson and Mark Whitten represented Microsoft and received the award for “Most Popular Online Console Gaming Service” for Xbox Live, among many others. All of those awarded at the show will be featured in the 2010 edition of the Guiness World Records, along with interviews with key heads of gaming culture, a brief history of gaming, and other records set in the past 12 months.

“Best Selling Rythm Game Series” – Red Octane, Charles and Kai Huang, for Guitar Hero
